I was wondering on a scale of 1-10 how similar was the actual PCAT is to the Pearsons Practice tests for those who took the test in july?! They seem to be a bit to easy (excluding the verbal section :scared:) just want to really know what to expect when i take my first PCAT ever :xf::luck:

I can't answer with regards to the new test, but I took it last cycle and found the Pearson practice tests very helpful. When taken under test conditions, I thought they were reasonably similar to the actual test.

took 1 of 3 so far. the verbal, bio, and chem seemed way too easy. so i'm still skeptical.
i got a 38/40 verbal, 34/40 bio, 37/40 chem, 28/40 RC, and 27/40 QA

took the july 18 pcat, and did all three pearson pcat practice tests, 1 each day, on the three days righ before july 18. my range fell within 70-99 composite on every exam and i ended up with an 89. i'd say fairly accurate

I did the practice PCAT as well. Chem and BIo i have to say are pretty easy.. 46 in Bio and 47 in chem
but everything else seems pretty difficult- reading comprehensions and math is not that simple - I haven't done math in like 4 years!! 30 in reading and 29 in math
I was just wondering how did u do so well in verbal? I got like 28/48 T_T
any ideas as to how to improve these 3 scores?

Yea joe, i don't know if we've studied well or its just easy :S I'm scoring in the 78%-98% on tests 2 & 3 and I'm in the process of test 1 right now ill post my whole scores for all three soon, just for people to give me an opinion!

took test 2 just now
verbal 34/40
bio 37/40
chem 38/40
reading 27/40
qa 37/40

i have a princeton review book for the pcat and its online resource came with a vocab list of about 1000words. ive learned about 400 of them so far, 20 a day. as far as reading comprehension.... idk i suck at it. for math i pretty much guessed on all of the calc questions unless it was a basic derivative/integral

Test 3 (first one i took)
23/40 Verbal
34/40 Bio
32/40 Chem
27/40 Reading
32/40 Quantitive

78-98%

Test 2 (2 days later)
Verbal (23/40)
Bio (35/40)
Chem (32/40)
Readin comp (27/40)
Quant (34/40)

78-98%

&
Just took Test 1

verbal 30/40 (not my strong point)
Biology (36/40)
Chemistry (34/40)
Reading comp (32/40)
Quant(30/40)

80-99 composite %

And I'm using some flashcards i found online for verbal...dont know what else i can do, i downloaded a GRE prep book I'm just gonna memorize as many analogies as i can from there; for math dammit some questions piss me off; As for study material I'm using course materials, dr.collins and the kaplanbook(SUCKS BAD.No one should buy it)

In all Verbal and reading comp is a Composite dropper :( boo

Also i wonder how the actual pact scores will be scored compared to this; i heard its relative to everyone else hopefully everyone else has troubles with reading comp and verbal also so the percetile score will be decent 3:)

did you notice on your score report a raw RC score of 70% is estimated at 40-60% adjusted. i obviously didn't get the memo that bio majors were good readers. i swear if they gave those passages in powerpoint format i'd wreck them LOL

question. are the questions on the official pearson practice exams the same for everyone that purchases them?

My friend and I compared our practice tests, and they were identical, so yes, they are the same for everyone.

Test 1
verbal 38/40
bio 34/40
chem 37/40
rc 28/40
qa 27/40

Test 2

verbal 33/40
bio 36/40
chem 37/40
rc 28/40
qa 35/40

test 3

verbal 34/40
bio 37/40
chem 38/40
rc 28/40
qa 37/40

any strategies for reading? seriously. i keep doing practice ones and read articles on my spare time. but still no improvement.

you got this, your good at everything except reading comp I'm sure you'll end up in 99%
what day is your test? mines on the 23

If you took the pearson practice tests and the actual PCAT, how did your practice test score relate to your PCAT score? Everyone ive talked to has said that the practice tests where a great indicator of what your score would be on the PCAT.
