New GPR Program at LSU Health Sciences Center- Shreveport

The residency will be a one-year experience in hospital dentistry. We will intensively train general dentists to understand and competently manage complex dental patients with medically, mentally, emotionally, and physically compromised conditions, including age (geriatric and pediatric), utilizing the resources and facilities of our hospital, Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academic Medical Center. Advanced training will be provided in all areas of dentistry to enhance the skills required during postdoctoral education.

The GPR is a division of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at LSU Shreveport School of Medicine.

Rotations will include hospital dentistry, oral & maxillofacial surgery, anesthesia, internal medicine, emergency department, head and neck cancer and cleft palate surgery, IV sedation, pediatric dentistry, and private practice clinics.
