The Center for Orthopedic Research and Education, http://www.thecoreinstitute.com, in Phoenix announces our newest fellowship program in Interventional Spine/MSK Medicine. The fellow will be trained in the non-surgical management of all spine/msk disorders including interventional spine procedures, MSK ultrasound, EMG, imagery interpretation as well as physical, pharmacologic and behavioral therapies. The non-ACGME fellowship starts July 1, 2010.

About to complete our 5th anniversary, CORE has a main 22,000 sq ft facility housing musculoskeletal clinics, a fellowship training center, a gait lab, a biomechanics lab, a PhD-directed research center, MRI and physical therapy. In 2009, CORE had 14 abstracts accepted by the Orthopedic Research Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons meetings; 9 abstracts have been accepted for the 2010 meetings. We would like to investigate the efficacy of interventional spine techniques, MSK ultrasound and other diagnostic/therpeutic modalities by conducting original research. The fellow is expected to participate in such research.

The goal of this fellowship is to train competent, non-surgical specialists in the evaluation and management of the full spectrum of spine and MSK disorders. The integration of non-operative and surgical specialists within the CORE Institute provides the opportunity to develop outstanding clinical skills grounded in an evidence-based framework. The right fellow will have the chance to join CORE upon completion of the fellowship. The CORE Institute offers the best of private practice and academic medicine in one setting.

Requirements for consideration are:
1. Completion of an accredited North American Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency
2. Personal statement
3. Curriculum vitae
4. Three letters of recommendation
