Hey All -

I was thrilled to see on FRIEDA that there is a new program opening at UMDNJ - Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick.

Does anybody have any information on this program?

LL

I was told once by UMDNJ students that there is a female applicant from their school who is "guaranteed" a spot once it's open.

that was shut down (Dr. Lustig, Dr. Wallner etc.), then now reopened?
I might be wrong but love to hear someone who knows the history of that place.

dr haffty (former vice chair from yale) came in sept 05 and is the chairman of umdnj/rwj. he is approved for 6 positions, in some various configuration (2-2-1-1 or something). they have 2 incoming pgy-2's coming in this year, and are in the match this year as well for 2008. the cancer center is an NCI comprehensive cancer center. they have 2 varian 2100 ex's, bought a tomo unit, bought an hdr unit, have 4 clinical attendings (plus 2 soon-to-be-former-chiefs from hopkins & yale coming in july). they treat 40-50/day plus an additional 30/day at a satellite center. 3 year old facilities.

not exactly sure what the history was before this, but apparently the current chair of USC was chair at UMDNJ until 3 yrs ago, when he upped and left. that left 2-3 clinical attendings at UMDNJ who held down the fort until haffty came in.
