New LOR, Do I need to send an update letter?

Title pretty much says it all. My PI from my research lab finished writing a letter of rec for me but I'm already submitted all my secondaries. I've already assigned the letter to every school via AMCAS, but I know once you're complete ( I have been for about a month), school wont really update your app.

Should I send each school and update email that I assigned a new letter? Should it be a formal letter of intent, or just an email?

Nope, I don't think this is necessary at all. They will see the letter.

Many schools will not update your file after you're complete..
