This might have been posted already, but I thought it was noteworthy regardless. This school is just about 30 min. away from me, so it might definitely be a consideration down the road. Enjoy!

Do you happen to know what the target year for their first year of instructions is?

This school has been in the works for some time now. I made a post about this last year, when it was announced that one of our faculty members will be the Vice President of the new school.

It should be to the point that they will open in 1-2 years. I assumed that they are opening within the year.

Daggumit.

I love the Appalachain region but this school won't be open in time and the rotations of VCOM don't impress me.

Sigh.

Another school to add to the application list(how much money is this comming to....)

Do you mind share you opinion on why VCOM rotations did not impress you.
Thank you

I would like a core hospital at which to do most rotations. To the best of my knowledge that is not the case at VCOM.

However, I will be applying there in the future since I do want to practice in the Appalachain region(and Blacksburg is beautiful).

Thank you for your reply.
also in VCOM they go to small hospital which gives you the chance to do more work and learn more.
I felt very comfortable there.
you are right Blacksburg is beautiful.
thank you

Someone posted in Osteopathic forum that St. Mary's in Knoxville, Tennessee and I think Bradley in Cleveland, Tennessee, just north of Chattanooga, were to be used for 3rd and 4th year clerkships. St. Mary's is a 500+ bed facility and a very well-respected institution.

This one looks to be thought out well in advance.

I heard that there are currently eight new DO schools in the works! :scared:

They're shooting to start classes fall of 2007, so apps presumably this June.

Anyone hear anything about the one in Harlem?

Well, yes, I knew that. Imeant, did it get the go ahead? Will it be opening in 2007 like LMU?
