New year? Influx of late II's?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
bottom third or bottom quarter at best. This is when schools go down the "priority" (ie how your application was evaluated and scored when first submitted and reviewed) for the second or third rank of applicants to see who they II.
What do you mean by bottom third or bottom quarter?

More like the Roman Coliseum and Gladiator fights. Or perhaps Thunderdome
I read that is Trump-dome for some odd reason. It is going to Yuge , 75 feet high , and broadcast on NBC right after the Presidential apprentace a show in which Trump will assign a successor .

they are at at best a quarter of open slots/invites left, likely less than that remaining
Any idea what kind of applicants get these invites? Is it the more borderline ones because they have already gone through all applicants at this point or is it mostly still late applying superstars?

Yes.

Lol was writing a limerick and accidentally pressed post -.-

Guess I have to finish it now ^_^

Been checking my emails for days
Imagining all of the ways
from reject to hold
this cycle's so cold
i guess all that's left is to pray

so far the new year has brought me a rejection and a waitlist 🙁

Make it a limerick; it needs a little something
Yea not a limerick... Kinda went off on a tangent

2017 is on deck
Us Pre meds going through that bottleneck
Competing like crazy
Surpassing the lazy
Completing our classes
Learning bout gases
But when will it end
When will I trancend
I can't aprehend
Damn school just press send
So we can simply enjoy our damn weekend.

So if I already have some acceptances and I get a very late II this month, is it still worth attending? Or am I essentially interviewing just to be wait listed?

Depends how much it would cost you.

I've gotten some late love as a high-stat applicant who was complete July/August. Not sure what that means…

I honestly thought I wouldn't get anymore but I got one ii yesterday and one today! I am so grateful and could not believe it. Hope is still alive people!

Also I was complete most places by late August/early September, LizzyM is 69!

Hey @ChrisMack390! I saw your post in the Stanford thread (if that is the school you were referring to)! Congrats!

Stanford only interviews ~500 applicants, and has about a 40% acceptance rate post-interview. I am no expert, but I really think that Stanford would not waste their time interviewing someone they are not genuinely interested in. To put it into some perspective, Stanford only has 16 interview dates, and you snagged one of them-- congrats! :claps: It also seems that Stanford is drifting away from being a rolling admissions school, as it was in previous years, to slightly non-rolling (2-3 decision batches). But that being said, it seems that they do wait list a lot of people, but based on what I have read and heard from admissions, I really don't think you would be interviewing for a wait list spot.

Some things to consider:
-Cost to attend interview, as mentioned above
-Would you go to Stanford over the other schools that already accepted you?
>"Fit" based on your goals
> Location
> Comparative costs of attendance

Best of luck with your decision!! 🙂

Thanks. I live across the country so it will be a bit expensive to go, but I have a feeling I'll always wonder "what if" if I don't go, so I prob will.
