New York Downtown Union Decertification?

I'm a resident at another hospital in the NYC area, and I heard that NY Downtown Hospital residents might be disbanding from their resident union. Has anyone heard about this, and does anyone know why?

WTF do residents need a union for? What really needs to be disbanded is SEIU... then maybe NYC nurses and transport might actually DO some work....
