I hear what holds up licenses in terms of time are states which require fingerprinting as they are processed by the gov and can take months. Does NYS fingerprint?

I'll help you out: I asked our faculty and PD here in NY - NY does not require fingerprinting and most faculty and residents said it processes applications pretty quickly - 6 weeks to 2 months - which I guess is pretty fast compared to many states.:D:thumbup:

I'm gonna try and get my license soon..so i'll know then haha

No fingerprinting. Give yourself 2-3 months to be on the safe side. Its not the department itself that takes a while but the getting all your papers in. There are also a couple of courses you have to take to be eligable. Easy annoying one hour things...
