New Zealand residency for US med school grad?

Hello, I'm currently a college student but I'm looking way ahead right now for when I graduate med school. I plan to attend med school in the US, but I was born in New Zealand and am a citizen there, and I know I would love to return there for residency. I'm wondering how difficult it would be for me to get a residency in NZ? And would being an MD or DO make a difference? Also, would residency take the same amount of time in NZ as in the US and have similar hours, or does it work differently?

You would honestly have no shot as a US MD trying to go to NZ, as the tsunami is getting even bigger and bigger with each passing year.

You would need to go to medical school in NZ or AUS to have a shot
