Hey SDN,

This summer I took 4 NS Full Length exams (#1-4), which ranged from 492-496. Last night I took the AAMC #2 Exam and scored 14 points LOWER then my last Next Step FL exam. I tested all five practice exams identically and under standard testing conditions (I'll admit I was pretty burned out prior to taking AAMC #2, BUT it shouldn't have dropped THAT MUCH). This was partially due to me taking NS #3, NS #4 AND AMMC #2 all in one week. What is the cause for this and what can I do? I'm starting to panic..taking the ACTUAL MCAT this month. Thanks!

What were your raw scores for each?

NS #1: 493 // 124 (24/59) / 122 (21/53) / 122 (21/59) / 125 (32/59)
NS #2: 492 // 121 (16/59) / 123 (26/53) / 124 (26/59) / 124 (28/59)
NS #3: 495 // 124 (24/59) / 120 (17/53) / 125 (31/59) / 126 (33/59)
NS #4: 496 // 123 (21/59) / 123 (26/53) / 124 (28/59) / 126 (34/59)

AAMC #2: 482 // 121 (24/59) / 119 (19/53) / 120 (19/53) / 122 (29/59)

NS #1: 493 // 124 (24/59) / 122 (21/53) / 122 (21/59) / 125 (32/59)
NS #2: 492 // 121 (16/59) / 123 (26/53) / 124 (26/59) / 124 (28/59)
NS #3: 495 // 124 (24/59) / 120 (17/53) / 125 (31/59) / 126 (33/59)
NS #4: 496 // 123 (21/59) / 123 (26/53) / 124 (28/59) / 126 (34/59)

AAMC #2: 482 // 121 (24/59) / 119 (19/53) / 120 (19/53) / 122 (29/59)

That's what I was afraid of. Apparently NS exams inflate lower scores (below ~505 from what I saw on an old thread). Your AAMC test in most likely indicative of how you would do on test day. I would personally reschedule if you could.

Do you think your issue has been lack of content review or trouble interpreting passages?
