Can someone confirm that podiatry is not one of the qualify professions for the National Health Service Corps scholarships? I tried to call and ask but I was on hold for too long.

I know podiatrists classify for the HPSP scholarships, but the Navy's website does not directly list it: http://www.med.navy.mil/sites/navme...rofessionsscholarshipprogram_prospective.aspx

I contacted the recruiter in my state and it is part of the HPSP. He only had two scholarships (regionally I assume) he could award in the field of podiatry and he said it depends on what available funds there are (i.e. podiatry is usually the first scholarship to be dropped if there aren't enough funds...M.D.s and DDS's are in higher demand). They are usually filled up by early October..

As far as the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, I am not sure...sorry.

Bringing this thread back to see if podiatric physicians are eligible for NHSC, or if you know of any other scholarships for podiatrists in return for service in underserved areas?
