Are NJ schools "friendly" to NY residents when it comes to applying?

Doubt it because they know there are so many SUNY schools that they would pick first that it's not worth the effort to interview too many NYers.

Just a guess.

You need a strong link to the state. Like having lived there for a significant amount of years. Or going to Rutgers undergrad or something.
 
Keep your mitts off my state schools :p

But seriously, I think the SUNYs are much more regionally forgiving than the NJ schools. Rutgers and RWJ tend to take 100% NJ classes. You have a good shot at Cooper IF you have a bunch of volunteer service.
