The MJ article was a a good read. Our risk management course professor (healthcare lawyer) hinted that increasingly popular "Pain Management" centers, esp the private practices where pts walk out with Rx for hundreds of tabs of Vic HP or MS Contin, are playing with fire. I would tend to agree. They are certainly doing well financially, but it'll be interesting to see if they are medicolegally viable long term?
Pain and discomfort need to be respected, but there is a definite line between pain control and being a quasi-legal drug dealer.
