It's not time to start worrying yet people. Most schools haven't even started inviting regular applicants for interviews yet. As long as you're not applying to a Texas school, Vandy or Michigan everyone is in the same boat.

I can't wait to quit this club 😀

I know it's still early, but I can't wait to be interviewing.

I feel the same way as grumpy bear ...

Hmm... What if I DID apply to vanderbilt... I suppose my membership in the "no rejections yet club" may be in jeopardy

i've been waiting 5 weeks as active...still not verified...looks like i wont be leaving this club for a while...

Don't worry....it is still early in the season for interview invites, except for some schools like the Texas schools.......relax, finish up those secondary applications and be patient with the waiting...........you'll get those interview invites......Good luck!!!!!

You read my mind. I'm not feeling the love yet. I'm very happy to be getting confirmation emails and all though. At least I know all mail was not lost and the world is not going to end. Unless the power doesn't come back on in New York. I got my confirmation from Einstein just before, kinda weird.

So MDmiracle, are you referring to MD or DO schools. 😉

As for me, my file is complete at 9 schools but still no interview invites. Well, I have a DO invite but not an MD one yet. Not sure if that counts...

Oh, Think your funny huh? 🙂 Any love would be nice. I am on hold at WVSOM osteopathic, so maybe that's good. Wish I could look at it that way, though.

Hey people,
It's REALLY early, seriously. I did interviews up till the end of February and ended up getting in several places I interviewed at very late. Don't worry just yet, seriously.🙂

Preach it!

I haven't heard anything from Vandy yet. I'm a 3.74, 33Q from Tennessee. (Of course, being a home-state-boy would only hurt, if anything, with Vandy.)

Why does everyone in-state say Vandy is inhospitable to Tenn residents?

They only have 250 in-state applicants, they interview 50 and accept 25. Those are much higher percentages than for out-of-staters.

hey FUNKLESS - there's more to an application than gpa and mcats....i got an interview at vandy with a lower mcat, but higher GPA and thousands of hours of experience and service. check the rest of your app too, there are plenty of people with 33's applying....also, its still early in the game, maybe they're still reviewing your file...good luck though

I have similar stats as Funkless and I got an interview at Vandy. Since the interview letter was dated 7/29 and AMCAS didn't submit the info to Vandy until after 7/14, I got a feeling that the screening process was by computer (I.e. They probably don't read your essay). The quantity of extracurricular activities may matter but I doubt a computer screening process is smart enough to do that. I'd say hang in there, may it's just that they can't handle too many interview offers right now, and it's not neccessarily because your application is not competitive

I don't think it's computerized myself, because they cut down to like 22%, and I have a very good MCAT, and a decent GPA, and haven't heard. Just my guess though.

How's it going for you guys? Any word yet? My files are now complete (at the schools I've gotten secondraries to) since my undergrad just sent out my committee letter on Tuesday, so hopefully I'll be hearing something soon. How long do you think it takes to hear after a file is complete (i know it varies 🙂 )?
