yeah the attitudes were very similar, and on the same topic. but hakashi got kicked out for being too outspoken. i guess it makes him tick. well be careful masamune, i see your side but you know how sdn is now.

rumors? you mean this has been a major discussion? I just saw this person's posts a few minutes ago and I found it quite disturbing. i think attitudes like that is disgusting and such people don't belong caring for patients who need compassion, support and understanding.

Both are from Canada
Both are 18
Both have a father and an uncle who are surgeons
Both don't care for women in surgery residencies
Both don't think women should be in medicine at all
Both are republican (not that that's bad)
Both think they are superior
Both have a 4.0 GPA
Both think they will get into med school at 20

And the list goes on. That's why I think I will ignore Masamune's posts like Hakashi's.

Yeah, a 4.0 through 50% of his coursework. Who knows what will happen in the other half. How often do 4.0 students waste a lot of time baiting people on an internet message board? Aren't you guys usually better at time management than that?

ill be honest, i dont mind it at all. its nice to see a different point of view from what i usually see around here. everyone preaches about diversity, but when you actually get it, then what? why does it have to mean color of skin? and hey, if his family has been doing it for generations then you can be pretty damn sure he will be good at it, and i mean that. genetics is important, its why the best athletes arent the hard workers but the ones who come from athletically gifted families and have natural prowess. mentality doesnt matter, look at examples like shawn kemp, somehow he comes to mind instantly.

ah... the famous 1st amendment argument. Let me tell you something very basic: The consitution regulates the relationship between individuals and the government but NOT between the individuals. Therefore, you have the right to say whatever you want in front of the Government and they cannot stop you. However, this is a private website run by private citizen. If they want to restrict your speech they are free to do so by banning you from the site. But I agree, the term troll is way overused on this board.

As long as Masamune does not start insulting people like Hakashi did, I do not see why he should be banned. Just ignore him.

Do you get out much? People I knew in college who acted like he did in person got shunned. Same thing here. As stated above, first amendment does not apply. Just like I can kick you out of my house for making an ass of yourself, Lee can kick you off his internet message board.

Besides which, while I welcome different viewpoints, they need to be genuine and well reasoned. Trolling is just vomiting crap onto the screen with the purpose of causing a fight. If he had the same viewpoint, but said it in a well reasoned way, then he wouldn't be in danger of being banned (my opinion only).

yes in concur, obviously theres nothing unlawful about it or this place would be shut down. but, there is quite a bit of repression. its not so common outside of pre allo. free expression isnt just a law, the premise is that its supposed to be beneficial which is why it was made into a law. so, it follows that repression in any context is not too healthy. who cares if people insult, just ignore or make more advanced ignore functions. i think the only problem is spamming bc thats disruptive.
