I'm taking community college classes at night to finish up my pre-req's. This community college doesn't have a pre-med office where I can send LOR's to be copied and shipped off as needed. There is a 'health advisor' who told me to talk to the local 4 yr college about most pre-med stuff, but since I'm not a student there, they haven't responded to my emails. And it doesn't make much sense to send LOR's to a school where none of my professors teach.

Any advice on how to handle LOR's, or am I stuck asking each person to write a letter and make 20 copies to be shipped out as needed?

What have other non-traditional's done?

I'm in a similiar situation. No pre-med advisor or letter service at my CC so I'm stuck asking each prof for multiple copies of a LOR.

I read a lengthly thread earlier this week covering the exact same topic. The end result conclusion of the posters was the same, your profs have to send out multiple individual letters.

I'm in a similiar situation as well. I called a few school and asked the admissions counselor and they advised me that possibly the best course of action would be to obtain an LOR from the chairperson of each department, Chemistry, Biology, and Math. That way you only have to get three instead of 5-10, depending on how many different profs your had.

This is what I am going to do.

Check out this web based LOR service: www.interfolio.com

I used them for grad school recs and they seem to have their act together. It's tough enough asking a prof for one letter! Good luck all.

Enkindu,

That was so incredibly nice of you to post that site up. I had a major struggle last year with my letters of rec and it really made my app process this year so much harder because I was asking for multiple letters and things like that. I am done now, but I think it is really cool that you posted the site for everyone. How quick were they with delivering the letters?

It's been a while since I used interfolio so I don't remember how quick they are.... but I think they have all that info on their site. Cheers!🙂
