5/20/18 UPDATE: Due to various reasons I have decided to apply to a few DO programs as well:

  1. A.T. Still University - School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona
  2. Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University
  3. Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine
  4. Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine
  5. Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine
  6. Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine - Philly location
I don't know much about DO programs so any critique would be appreciated. My budget will not allowe me to apply to anymore than 6 DO programs as im already applying to over 30 MD programs.

Update 2:
current school list located a few posts below.

Hi Everybody,

Long time lurker, getting a good school list is kinda frustrating. I could use some advice and guidance so here I am. :)

I recently received my mcat score and am now preparing my school list. I am a WA state resident. I went through MSAR, and narrowed it down to about 40 schools, below. I'd like to narrow this down further to 25 or so as I am not rich and fees add up quickly! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am over 30 but under 40, not part of URM. Thank you!

Reason for AZ schools inclusion: Graduated from hs and college here. Lots of family in state as well.

I've deleted school per suggestions by Faha. I also added a few, such as Albert Einstein, USF, Rochester, Morsani, St. Louis, and Boston.

I added note regarding AZ schools in op. Not sure if it will make a difference. Thank you for feedback.

Include the AZ schools since you have significant connections to the state. You could remove schools such as Geisinger and Cincinnati which have instate preference. Emory, Brown and Dartmouth are slight reaches.

Thank you! Other than the 3 mentioned, do you believe I am competitive at the rest? I've added a few schools, please see op update.

Hi Faha, I've removed schools with median GPA over 3.8, except for UofA. Also removed reach schools and most schools with mandatory attendance. Any other considerations I should think about? I am not picky about instruction format. Also, how much weight should I put on whether or not there were any people accepted from my particular region?

Anyone else care to knock about ~5 schools from this list and or sugggest 5 better ones for my situation? Any glaring omissions or inclusions? Of course, I thank Faha for the previous guidance.

One extra set of eye balls couldn't hurt.

Ok, I will lead. I just took a look at it again and I think Albert E, Creighton, Case and Penn State would be good to apply to as well. They have slightly higher stats as a group than list above.

Any ones from above quoted list worth swapping out for one of these four?

You run the risk of having subpar secondary essays with the number of schools you're planning to apply to. May i ask why you added more schools to your list?

Im just looking for assistance regarding school selection.
