Stony Brook has a PDF app on which you can't type. What are people doing with apps like that? Just hand-write it? Ideas?

Is it the print out and mail back type? If so, just write by hand. You could find a typewriter and type it if you want to get fancy.

Yeah, I need to mail it back to them. In this age of technology, just feels weird to hand-write the app.

I will print the essays of course.

If you have access to adobe acrobat professional there is a typewriter mode which you can enable, and it lets you type all over non-typeable things.
