So, Pickles lived through the lynch. How could that be?!?

There's a few situations in which a wolf gets lynched but doesn't die.

First is that their ability is lynch avoidance. This typically allows for a 1x lynch avoidance for a player. This can be a village or wolf ability, but due to the nature of it it comes off as instantly sketch when anyone claims that role. This is because pretty much any wolf who survives a lynch can attempt to claim this role in an attempt to not get lynched a second time.

The second is an unlynchable wolf. This is a wolf who has to be killed by some other means such as a vigilante or an item. I have not been in a game where there was an actual unlynchable wolf, but it's a possibility.

The third is an Alpha Wolf. This is the leader of the pack and in order to lynch them, you have to kill every other wolf first. Aka they're the final boss. There are exceptions to this rule. In some games, the vig can kill the alpha wolf while other wolves are still alive. This happened in Pokemon when Dolphin was the alpha wolf but got NK'd by someone (don't remember who). Another is the possibility of an item being used to kill the alpha.

There are a few thought processes on what to do when a player doesn't die after a lynch. Most of the time they don't out themselves. So a common and fairly safe rule is "If it doesn't die, kill it twice." Living through 2 lynches essentially confirms that a player is a wolf, and if they only have a 1x avoidance then you catch a wolf. This is valid because wolves will generally not reveal themselves unless they are going to die, as getting village to spend another lynch on them essentially gives them an extra night to kill people. So a wolf will often continue to pretend to be a villager until after the second lynch.

However, in this situation the wolf has outed herself. This could be a noob mistake from not understanding these mechanics OR she could be an alpha wolf/unlynchable wolf who is hoping that by revealing herself we will focus on her and not the other wolves. So village will have to decide whether to lynch her a second time in hopes she has a 1x avoidance or attempt to look into other wolves with the belief she is an Alpha.

So it was with confidence that Foxy Smolder Agent Mulder set off for his next investigative target. He had made himself vulnerable in order to take down the first one. Mulder blocked out the sound of the man's monologue as he looked around for a way to save himself. Was there really no one here to help him out? He supposed it was to be expected - there were others that needed protecting too. It might not have made a difference anyway. He looked back towards his enemy and was not surprised to find that the weird little dude was still talking.

"Look, if you're gonna kill me, just get it over with. I'd rather have the silence of death than continue to listen to the sound of your voice."

That seemed to do the trick.

Later on, Stagg also recommended we not lynch Coffee - had he been PMing with Dandy or communicating with her in some way? Or, (genuine question) is there a role that has the ability to tell when someone's been seered? There's a possibility that Coffee could not be seered (though I'm not sure why that would lead Dandy to telling us not to lynch her) or that Dandy was given a false result when she seered her (is the latter a thing?).

I haven't thought too far into this but at first glance I'm wondering if the transmission is from Dandy as well. Perhaps wondering why she didn't answer the question of why we shouldn't lynch Coffee, that her role was precious, and that she had two or three different people she had in mind to seer. Not sure, but just my first thoughts.

I am inclined to believe pickles is an Alpha wolf right now.

If she was a regular wolf, I would think this morning's write-up would have reported her as having been successfully lynched because she was in the lynch lead at the end of D3. However, pickles has not been reported dead this morning. Instead, she has been listed as alive in the write-up. After the close of D3, she has been chattering and mocking other players (e.g., M935) and causing lots of grief. So, I'm inclined to believe she is an Alpha wolf. I don't want to waste lynch votes on pickles if we need to lynch every other wolf in this game first before pickles is 100% dead.

I'm also interested in hearing about others' thoughts about pickles at this time

... I'm speculating and analyzing the posts of the sketchiest player right now, honestly throughout the game.

I'm looking at mutt. She has been barely posting throughout the game. She does not seem to be offering analyses about different players; and she does not seem to be actively searching for any wolves.

Despite saying she is “speculating and analyzing” posts, she does not seem to be searching for sketchy players on this thread. I don’t really see any “speculation” or “analysis” from her for the past 3 days. So, it’s possible she might be staying under the radar if she is a wolf (or some other type of a non-villager/neutral).

@muttmanager I’d like to hear more from you. What are your thoughts about the players you feel are sketchy right now?

I think I have been a pretty consistent player. While I was silenced, I latched on to Emmy and went back and read her posts, realizing I may have made a mistake there. I then became increasingly suspicious of mutt and pickles. I was the first to try to bring down pickles.

That's the issue. I don't really have top wolf candidates. I've only got those I think are villagers, those who are questionable but not exactly suspicious yet to me, and those who aren't saying enough who I'm curious about.

With what's going on with pickles (granted idk if wolves get weird abilities too or not) it seems more likely to me that either Mr. Numbers is doing it wrong or he is trying to have us take out 2 people for them. But with luck all the wolves are actually laying low and letting us poke each other's eyes out. Who knows at this moment.

I'm sus of Emlady since she, like Greebies, have been trying to getting rid of Mr. Numbers both days. Since Greebs turns out to be a wolf in inclined to think that Ems is also one and that they don't like Numbers' abilities and we're trying to get the group to snuff him out.

Today I chose someone I haven't heard from much to see if I could draw out some chat from them. I'll wait to cast or change votes as the evening progresses... And I get out of work.

I do find it interesting, and believe that pickles could have gotten a lead on beagle from the possible secret/loaded question, but whether that lead is beneficial for one party or the other I've yet to determine.

Alright starting to get close to the wire. I agree that at least following the possible beagle lead could be beneficial. And since Barkies never retaliated or said anything about my lunch vote (hurt. Lol)...

I said this previously but it will be good to sum it up again. When I was infected with the microbe, I couldn't talk clearly. I was pretty dang sure grebes was a wolf and I was (am) suspicious of you. I was trying to get this across in my Lynch votes waffling between you and grebes in case I was killed.

After grebes was killed, I switched it to you. Upon further events, pickles and mutts seemed more suspicious to me then you did. So, I switched to pickles and stayed there till she was unsuccessfully lynched.

I can say I apologise for seeming suspicious by not being specific about players. Honestly been playing catch up and trying to figure out whether as village it is ok to be more open or if you should play close to the chest. This is my very first game and irl never heard of all these possible abilities before (kind of intimidating).

Something I have noticed: pickles, grebes, mutts, and dinashadow all voted to Lynch killer the first day
shelter voted to lynch grebes so that is making me feel safer about you
Other people I mentioned didn't vote for grebes or killer

If you lynch me today, then you are killing one of your own. Also, for those of you that claim to never trust a wolf, I told you that I would kill Dandy, and guess what happened... Maybe you should trust a wolf as I have not lied to you all yet.
