Out of curiousity, how many on here are North American born North American Americans?
Ha. I actually got 2 negative karma for this post. It was actually just a trick question. The only North American born North American Americans would be Native Americans (American Indians.) Why do people get so sensitive about race? I never got it.
I gave you some positive karma - people are way too sensitive. Plus, since when is someone born in another country considered American? I was born in Russia, and although my citizenship is now American, I'm still Russian by nationality. But anyway, I digress.
Yes, but only those actually born in North America.
people definitely get to touchy about race! Proud to be 1/12 Native American . . .Cherokee Nation baby!
I thought nationality corresponded to citizenship.
I think it's how you define it. My kids will be russian-american because their heritage is russian but they're also born here. I, on the other hand, don't consider myself truly american. My parents, on the other hand, consider themselves to be Jewish.... so who knows. Point being, I don't think that someone who is born in another country and moves here is really _________-American. This is all referring to that "African born..." thread.
I think in many places, Nationality = Country of Citizenship.
Ethnicity will correspond to Russian, Armenian, Korean, Japanese, etc.
For example, my nationality will be Australian, but my ethnicity is Chinese.
Those two terms seemed to be misused all the time...not sure why.
Actually, they did not evolve on this continent, they migrated, so your logic is false there as well. The real question is how far can the PC bomb go before it explodes!
Thanks for the points! I'm glad not everyone on here is so uptight. In the end, we're all people, right? Can't we all just get along?
You're right. In actuality, everyone on earth is African!
i wish you woulda told me that before i filled out my amcas!
Why do you have to ask such a stupid question in the first place?
Yeah. Primarily boredom; it's also a spoof on all the "Any African Americans, Mexican Americans, Vietnamese Amercians, etc in the house" posts.
Well, Iraqi actually. That is where they believe the Garden of Eden was if you're Christian, and if you believe in evolution, Mesopotamia is between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in Iraqi.
1/12th? hmm. I'm more ethnic than you!!!! haha i'm 1/8th. I rule. Wait...maybe I'm 1/4th...crap. As you can see, my native american heritage has played a huge roll in my life. I plan to exploit it for everything its worth on my med school application.
Seneca-Cayuga Tribe here....Gau Ya Taut!!!
