I was going to apply to NIU when the cycle started but when I called to gain information on the program I was told the average GPA accepted was a 3.8

Yeah, I saw that when I was researching the program. The average pGPA is 3.7, while the last 60 hours GPA is 3.8, but they have lower average for the GRE (150V, 151Q).

I got a pretty generic email stating I was accepted but didn’t get any other details....I’m assuming I’ll get more details once I formally accept with the graduate school

I actually just decided to withdraw from the NIU class and attend another school. I'm sure the waitlist will still move a little bit in the next couple weeks.
The chair of admissions finally replied to my email and said that I was "in the Top 5 and will be notified if anything changes." I was hoping to get an exact number as I already knew that I was in the top 5 from figuring out here who got accepted, but at least they responded.
At least that's better than nothing and we know that it's moving then. Hopefully we will get acceptance emails soon... Fingers crossed!
