i think the one thing that really helps me with this med school thing is going grocery shopping every other week, and packing my day's food the night before.

it saves time in having to go to the cafeteria
it saves money
and the food you prepare for yourself will be much more nutritious than the food you'd get at the cafeteria
plus, having the food with you at all times means that you wont be eating at odd hours, and that you can plan when to eat it because it doesn't involve you getting up and leaving to find a food place.

it'll take some effort starting out
packing your day's food for the next day the night before and all...
but its well worth it
and the more you do it, the easier it becomes.

good luck!

as for exercise.
if you think you can do 10 min of exercise a day, then props to you
and you should try it out
whats important is that you get your heart rate up and then cool down
good luck again,

This is my advice. Never engage in emotional eating.

Fact is, eating is fun. So we often eat when stressed, tired, bored, or sex-deprived. We replace one pleasure for another: food for sleep, sex, or entertainment. It would be okay if there were not negative consequences to this replacement. There are. You get fat.

You'll find that breaking up the habit of eating recreationally opens up time. Then the burdens on you to find stuff to do instead of eating. When you're a kid, you can go without eating for hours. Reason? You were having fun, so you never thought of eating.

We can do the same as adults. Breakfast and lunch are only social constructs. Listen to your body. 9 times out of 10, when you are so into your work and life in general, you won't be hungry. And when you do get hungry, the food tastes so much better.
