Not filling out secondary protocol

Quick simple question: if I was sent a secondary by a school that I have subsequently decided not to fill out and submit, is it best practice to email admissions and tell them I am withdrawing my app - or can I just leave it alone?

I believe I have read somewhere else on SDN that it is best to let the school know you are withdrawing your app. It makes it easier for them to move on, logistically and it just seems like the honest and polite thing to do.
