During the Step 2 CS we are advised not to "listen through the patient's gown". Does this mean that we just cannot place the bell on the gown but can drop it under the gown to the position it needs to go, or do we have to undo the gown in order to move to the auscultation site unimpeded?

I agree--I learned that it's OK to slip the steth under the gown to hear 1 or 2 things...

...but you're gonna need to untie and undrape on CS anyway, so might as well just do it. And ask first. And be compassionate!
