Is it possible to refuse to release your scores after taking the April mcat, and then changing your mind after the scores come? If it is possible, would med schools view it as a negative and would it affect my application in any negative way?

You don't have a choice. MCAT scores get released automatically via AMCAS. I believe every MCAT you have ever taken gets released.

This is true...since the MCAT and AMCAS are run by the same people, they do it automatically. Sorry

Actually, this was an option a few years ago and those scores are still not released if you don't release them yourself, but in the last two years, every MCAT taken is released automatically.

This is true. I took the test in 2000 and that score is shown on the AMCAS I submitted for this cycle even though that score isn't valid anymore.

Unless you void by the end of the bio section, your score will be permanently available to any school you apply to. And, the only way to get your scores is to not void it, so either no one finds out, or everyone does.

is bio section at the end or beginning?
