I just recently got my NOVA Physics book and I have been going through some of it. I am curious as to those that have used NOVA Physics and did their problems and studied the solutions. Were the problems in NOVA enough or did you find you needed other sources like TPR or EK to get a good score (10 or higher; in addition to doing AAMC practice tests). So far, I really like their explanations and it presents the material in a clear, easy to understand way. Thanks, all!

i'm curious to know the same thing. I think NOVA's book is great to get the basics down, and understanding the concepts. I know that the real MCAT will be a little different, since they won't be asking you direct, straightforward questions like the NOVA problems do...since it will have to be more of application to an unfamiliar situation. I haven't started taking practice tests yet, so I'm curious to see how NOVA's preparation will help. Anyone out there who has used NOVA got any opinions on the matter?

Come on, someone throw me a bone!

Someone out there must have used this book and taken the MCAT. Did you need other sources for more difficult questions to better represent the MCAT?

Practice exams would be best. The more comfortable you are with the basics, the better off you will be when tackling any MCAT Physical Science passage. I don't know of any books that do anything beyond concept reinforcement. Even my TPR Science workbook consisted of basic problems.

I have TPR books. I was wondering if I need NOVA. I never took Physics at university. Also TPR books don't have a lot of physics passages.

Thanks.

Nova is a life savior. It even helpf you study while you take physics class.
I find it very helpful since they have example of nearly every type of problem which may appear on the MCAT. It also is great for practicing and hammering those things into your brain.
After that all you need is to take as many FL's as humanly possible.

Did you use EK 101 Physics to help work enough problems?
