Where is the logic behind applying to 20 or more schools?
My state only has 1 med school and I realize that its going to be EXTREMELY difficult to get into an out-of-state public med schools, and of course everybody applies to all the private schools so I figure that its foolish to apply to more than maybe 10 programs.
Are admissions REALLY that random such that an applicant can apply to 20 out-of-state schools, get rejected by all of them, and still have a reasonable chance at getting accepted to the 21st out-of-state school he/she applied to? I figure thats gotta be one in a million, and certainly doesnt justify spending the extra $1000 in application fees.
