I am a nurse thinking about going to dental school. Does anyone know about acceptance rates for nurses applying to dental school?

Um...im pretty sure they dont have a statistic for that. Now...if you told us your GPA and DAT score we might be able to tell you if you have a shot. Good luck!

The healthcare experience is excellent and will doubtlessly set you ahead of the majority of applicants. However, it seems like you will need some experience in a dental setting to be able to demonstratecommitment to dentistry specifically.

I've scrubed at a hospital and now at a surgical center for years and every interview I had I was told how much that helped my application. I would however get some dental experience like they have said. Good luck:thumbup:

I agree, the exposure helps, both medical and clinical. I was told that my work in medical translational research at a cancer hospital helped my application. Prior, I also was advised however to get some dental experience.

    :) I'm working as a pharmacy technician.
    would this help me too.?:
many of my friends advised me to quit working in pharmacy
becuase it will make me look like
I am not sure if I want to be a dentist or pharmacist.
but I liked working as a pharm tech b/c
I think i learned a lot how to deal with patients and
I have no idea how much my communication skills improved.
I hope you guys agree with me...:)
or you also think it will kinda harm me....????????:(
    Thanks. :D
