Not only psychologists ,but PA and even a nurses (nurse practitioners) do prescribe meds, not narcotics. 😱
They work under an MD licence(whatever that means?!) but tell me how will a MD check 3 or 4 similar providers and all of their prescriptions working in 3 or 4 places at the same time.It is impossible, isn't it?If he or she wanted to check he can do the job himself, right! 😕
Something has gone wrong along the way as money and bussines become far more important then respect and MD -patient relationship. It used to be magic in that relationship, remember. 😍
We ,perhaps, leting everyone to do a MD job earned even more money, now it backfires on us,MD's.Thus,Louisiana(not so progressive state,of course) decission is a product of a belief that in MD -patient symbiosis all that is left is "pushing pills". 😎
To make situation worse, many patients in MD office are seen by RN or similar nursing staff.
I do respect nurses very much(hold LPN licence also) but there is something in seeing a "Doc" that no other provider can replace. 🙂

IMG MD( excuse my english for possible mistakes, thanks) 🙄
