I'm interested in nutrition mostly in athletes and eating disorders- any ideas about what field would be good to go into to work with primarily either of these groups of people particularly the later group.

Probably psychiatry for eating disorders. More pure nutrition and areas such as athletes or obesity may be endocrinology.

The American Board of Nutrition link offers a certificate in Nutrition for physicians. Currently the certificate requires only a physician license and passing a test. It will soon (2006) require a fellowship. I think it would be geared toward internists and preventive medicine physicians.

Good thread...this is a topic which I have an interest in as well, but more from a bariatrics standpoint. I'm a nutritionist who would love to be able to use the skills I've obtained in undergrad.
