Hi everyone,

I know CA is notorious for being a difficult state to get into med school from...but does anyone know about NY state. I know there are tons of schools and i have checked out the msar and usnews, but just like every other school a 30 3.7 seems to be the norm?

any insight would be great.

New York has strong schools, the Suny's, Cornell, Mount Sinai, NYU, the list goes on. But I think overall the California schoosl are substantially stronger than NY state schools, and I think that California has more applicants than NY does.

while in new york, i noticed that about 0 out of 3 students are from cali. so i think it means that newyork probably has less NY resident applicants or just has more openings than cali schools
