I would like to transfer into NYCOM. I was wonderin if someone can tell me how many NYCOM grad go on to allopathic residencies and the place I can find this info. How is the interaction b/t classmates? Is the second year systems or just lectures?

Thank you

Call the NYCOM admissions office. They will be happy to send you the match list for last several years. About 50% go into allopathic residencies and 50% Osteo.

NYCOM has a mixed curriculum. In the second year you do have systems courses such as GI, cardio, ect...but you also take a number of sciences such as Immuno, and Pharm......

Good luck!! I'm not sure what the transfer policy is.

Hey farmdoc,
If you don't mind, will you disclose the school you want to transfer from and why? This information could be of help to those stusents who are trying to make a decision on schools. Thanks!

Here's the 2002 data they gave us:

Osteopathic Internships: 134 (57%)
Allopathic Residencies: 100 (42%)
Other: 3 (1%)

Allopathic residencies:
Emergency Med: 5
Fam. Practice: 7
Internal Med: 46
OB/GYN: 6
Pathology: 2
Pediatrics: 13
Preliminary/Transitional: 10
Psychiatry: 8
Surgery: 3

Hope this helps....
