No, they are the only school that I have heard absolutely nothing from (both MD and DO schools). I know you fill out a secondary application at the time of an interview, but they didn't even send an acknowledgement of the application.

You will get a card in the mail once they have it.

Hey everyone -

Just to let you know, NYCOM hasn't sent anything out regarding secondary applications/interviews yet. They are sending out invitations for interviews in a few weeks - once you get that card in the mail it's your responsibility to call up the admissions department and schedule an interview. On the interview day, you will fill out your secondary applications. The interviews wont begin until sometime in early November. Hope this helps!

If you have any questions you can call the admissions dept to check on the status of your application.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

How does NYCOM know who to invite if they haven't gotten August MCAT scores yet?

Thanks for clearing it up. I'm not an anxious person I just wondered if their secondary was sent out, and I somehow lost it in the mound of secondaries. Good luck everyone.

No problem Canadian...good luck applying!

Erin:

August scores come back sometime in mid October. Once the admissions dept sees those scores, then they send out invitations for interviews to those people who elected to take the August MCAT. That's why it's better to have everything in to the admissions office early that way they're only waiting on the MCATscores and once they recieve those, they can send out an interview invite right away. Good luck applying. If you have any questions, just let me know!

Thanks madmax822!

Does this mean that I should get my lor's in to them before they've received my MCAT scores? And, how does the secodary work if you have to fill it out while at the interview?? Thanks so much for the info!😀

Erin:

You should probably send out your LORs as soon as possible that way the admissions office only has to wait for your MCAT scores.

As far as secondaries go, it's a quick thing that you'll fill out once you get to the school. It's not hard, but it may be helpful to have a copy of your CV/Resume on hand as well as a copy of your AACOMAS app that way you have all the information you need in front of you.

You might need to write a brief paragraph stating why you want to be a DO/ why NYCOM.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions!

Just got a letter from them yesterday. It was of the "we have recieved your aacomas" variety. However, it did say that those people invited for an interview will fill out the secondary, and that they normally interview between november and May. Hope that helps.

I got one of those letters as well. I still haven't got my letter from a DO and haven't sent NYCOM my LOR's yet. I think I should send these in as soon as possible.

I only got a letter daying they got everything. I know you don't fill out a secondary for them until you interview first.
