Having trouble deciding between which program to pick. I can’t find the student handbook for DMU so it’s hard to compare some aspects between the two schools.
NYIT (AR)
Pros: An hour closer to home.
P/F grading system (Not sure how much of a pro this is due to there being a HP and Honors as well).
Want to match and practice somewhere in Arkansas and I like the location.
Much better Cost of Living budget, even though it’s cheaper.
Non-Mandatory recorded lectures.
Faculty and students seemed happy.
Seem to be technologically forward, and students told me this helped a lot with the problems that were caused by Covid.
Like the weather.
Smaller city.
Cons: ~$60k more expensive after 4 years.
Less established than DMU.
Somewhat of a lottery system for clinical rotations around Arkansas.
DMU
Pros: ~60k cheaper after 4 years.
Second oldest DO school.
No dress code as far as I know.
More to do, with better restaurants as well.
Cons: Graded on a 4.0 scale.
Further from home.
Larger city.
Not the biggest fan of constant snow and cold.
