Hi all,
I have an NYMC interview coming up on 4/29. can anyone let me know their experiences there? I remember a thread from a long time ago talking about "red flags", but I can't find it now. Anyone care to elaborate/clarify?
Thanks in advance...oodles and oodles.

I interviewed on 13th feb. Its a great school and the people were really nice. I stayed witha student and got the chance to meet them. The info session prepares you for the day and the dean actually encourages you to speak up about any thing that may need some clarification on your application.
Despite all the positives about the school, my interview was with nreal busy doctor and lasted around 15 min. Anyhow, I hope you have a great time and enjoy your stay.
Good Luck.

Hey Moneyjane,
I interviewed at NYMC yesterday (April 15). I enjoyed my interview, it was very laid back and easy going. The interviews are closed-file, so your interviewer (supposedly) knows nothing about you prior to the interview. You give your interviewer your personal statement and practice vision when you meet with them. Make sure that you are prepared to address anything that you perceive to be a red-flag in your application (your interviewer supposedly defends your red-flags to the committee when they meet to decide on your candidacy). NYMC tells you (when they invite you to interview) that you may interview with 2 people. Nobody in my group had two interviews. My interview lasted ~1 hour, however, people generally do have much shorter interviews at NYMC. I thought that everyone was laid back and really friendly. I also liked the down-to-earth attitudes that the students had, and that they are very honest with you regarding any questions that you may have. The school is beautiful (I loved the campus and the facilities). IMHO, the only thing that sucks is that you have to wait 8-10 weeks to hear anything from them <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> . Good luck and don't stress.

bumping it up in hopes of more NYMC tales/opinions :)

I am a student at NYMC if there are some specific questions you might have I will be happy to answer them. I am just feeling a little to lazy right now to talk about all the reasons I like the school.

Thanks for the offer med student...took you up on it and just sent you a PM with a bunch of questions.
:) THANKS!!! :)
