Hi Guys,

I am leaning more towards Downsate for Tuition and clinical training, but I am not too sure about the area.

Help me out guys. I want to tell them as soon as possible to free up the spots. Possibly tomorrow.

Downstate -- cheaper and probably give you a better education.

Downstate: Yes, pretty dumpy area. I've been there a few times and ended up walking past some kind of sanitation central that was quite smelly on my way from the subway. Area's not so safe, but I doubt you'll get shot. You could always live in a different area of Brooklyn and commute. Plus it's cheap and it's Brooklyn! In general, Brooklyn is far superior to Valhalla.

NYMC: Cleaner, prettier, suburban. Don't worry about getting mugged unless the penetentiary down the street has some kind of slip up. Much more expensive. Must have car. Not as much to do. Too far from NYC to visit regularly.

I'd say go with Downstate. But that's just my two cents.

Cant go wrong with NYMC

Downstate hands down. NYMC not worth tuition.
I'm biased b/c I didn't like NYMC. Way too preppy (one of richest counties in US), not impressed w/anything, expensive, students didn't seem thrilled to be there.

good luck,

fyi, it's not too far to visit nyc easily from nymc.

checking out the match lists might help you make your decision.

both matchlists are available from the schools' websites.

as i recall both schools did really well this year on the match. looking at years past, they both do consistently well.

Downstate, but bring your Kevlar vest!
