i have applied to the dds program IN NYU , but my part 1 score is 81 % ,and i have got an interview call from the MS program for clinical resarch ,it is offered as a 1 year certificate program and 2 year degree ms progrm ,may be if i get a seat in the ms program and do the 1 year program ,will i be in a better staNDING TO GET INTO THE DDS PROGRAM NEXT YEAR ,OR SHOULD I DROP THIS MS PROGRAM AND JUST GIVE PART 1 AGAIN ..

my main aim is to do dds ..so anybody pls advice

I had the same situation, when I applied first with 80. They offered me the same but I decided to retake step 1.
Now why would you wanna spend money on something which might( maybe NOT) help you getting into the 3 year DDS NYU program and far as i know those programs designed for foreign trained dentists who wanna go back to their country.
But............afterall you decide.

Dumb question... do they call you for that even if you didn't send in the application questionnaire for that program?
To the OP: I don't want to scare you, I am not sure if you sent in the right application questionnaire. When I was applying, I downloaded the questionnaire for the Advanced Programs for International dentists instead of the Advance Placement DDS. I just wanted to know why would they call you for a program you didn't apply to? 😕

Hi If this MS 2 year program is not allow you to practice as a speciality, then it is not worth it. it is just wastage of money, as in previous post, khuram told that it is best for foreign dentists who want to go back to their home country and want to practice with such certificate. Its better to retake the part-I. all the best.
