Yo, has anybody heard back from NYU? Damn it. I applied to that school like almost two months ago. Haven't heard a word back.

they didn't start accepting applications until august 4, so it might be a little while before they start getting back to people. (although i wish they'd hurry up, too)

Same here. My application was postmarked on August 4th, and I only received notice that they had received my application. 🙁 I guess they're still deciding on interviews? Slowpokes ...

Got an email today from NYU saying the following...

Dear Applicant:

This will inform you that we have received all forms and credentials required to complete your application.

The Committee on Admissions will notify you as soon as any final action has been taken.

Admissions Office


Anyone else get an email like this?

no, but i got a postcard saying that my transcipt was never received by them. 😡

suffice it to say, i'm either furious at my school or the usps.

NYU bungled one of my transcripts too.

I had to have it resent. Delayed the whole process by a good 2-3 weeks for me.

no email from NYU, but got a postcard saying that same exact thing about file completion.

to release scores to NYU, go to the AAMC MCAT section where you can check scores, and you should be able to send your score to a non-AMCAS school for free, i think.

whoa, i had no idea that we had to send transcripts in to nyu. i figured the hours i spent typing all the classes in those tiny little spaces would suffice. alas, one more thing to do.

i did get that return post card a few weeks ago. this email was the most recent communication from them.

for you URM's out there. did you know that NYU waives the app fee if you're an URM as a recruitment method? i had already paid mine when i was sent this fee waived app. fortunately, they were quick to refunded it.

I haven't even gotten the postcard or email. I sent everything in on time, but then I got notice from them at the end of August saying I never turned in the statistical form. So had to resend that...what a pain, I turned that in with everything before, and I know that for sure. So hopefully NYU will be quick in the next few weeks, I'd love to go to NYC again...and it would be an even happier trip knowing that I have an interview at NYU.

i have not received anything from them yet. i called to check on the status and see if they had received everything, and they wouldn't tell me. wouldn't even consider it. and they were not exactly polite about it.

i figured it was cool since all the other schools i called were really nice and said "oh yeah... your file has been complete for a while. sorry we never let you know."

appparently it is not cool to ask NYU those questions.

Aight. This is freakin frustrating. I got a small postcard from NYU today saying that my file is NOT complete because they're missing my transcript and rec letters. 🙄 Damn. They had to wait freakin 6 weeks to tell me that? It wouldn't be as frustrating if they had told me when I called them or emailed them. 😡

Well, for those of you who's waiting to hear something from nyu, they'll send you something if they're missing anything.

I got two postcards on the same day. One saying that my application is incomplete(dated on the 18th) and the other saying it is complete(dated on the 19th).

I had my transcript sent in July...and today I got a postcard from NYU telling me it's missing!!! I'm a bit frustrated right now...

i had the same thing happen w/ nyu... it's lame, but there's not much you can do about it, but send them another copy. 😡

i just got an email today from NYU saying my file is complete, and that...

"The Committee on Admissions will notify [me] as soon as any final action has been taken."

so maybe they send the postcard and/or an email?

That wording drives me nuts.

As soon as any final action is taken? From previous experience, I assume that means as soon as an acceptance or rejection is decided upon. I haven't interviewed yet, so I know it can't be an acceptance. Logic dictates that it must be a rejection! I know that's not what they meant, but it still makes me nutty.

my file should have been complete the beginning of september, but i have yet to hear from nyu. how long did it take for you guys to receive the complete postcard/email? thanks!

Definitely took over a month in my case, but that may have been because they hadn't started processing applications when I submitted.

It took a little over a month after I got the initial letter saying that they hadn't received the statistical form.
