Hello everyone! I am lucky enough to have three great choices for medical school. I am truly torn as to where I should go. I am interested in Peds, Med-Peds, and EM. I appreciate any insight anyone can give!

Ohio State
Pros
In-state tuition (56k + 56k + 79k + 79k)
Guided-learning curriculum*
I am familiar with Columbus and OSU (my UG school)
Huge UG campus and all the resources that come with it

Cons
No scholarships, all loans
A lot of required events/ busy schedule
Higher stress environment
Older school and cadaver lab
Will it be tough to match to the East Coast?

Case
Pros
Brand new, beautiful medical school on Cleveland clinic campus*
My family is less than 10 mins away from med school*
T25! Will more doors open because of this?
Students seemed the least stressed out with a lot of free time to pursue interests

Cons
I worry the curriculum is too self-directed and ambiguous for my taste
Extremely expensive (83k + 84k + 88k + 88k) this is COA with my $8400 scholarship
I don’t really care about research and Case requires it

NYU LI
Pros
Free tuition*, subsidized housing, free lunch
3 years
Small program
Guaranteed residency spot
My degree is from NYU

Cons
Far from family, no support system in NY
Inaugural class and all the kinks that come with that (which I feel will only be exacerbated since it’s only 3 years)
No SNMA, specialty interest clubs, social stuff (Yet?)

*asterisks = things that are particularly important to me

I would go NYULI. You are interested in primary care, NYULI is specifically designed to feed into that. You'll go to residency a year sooner, become an attending a year sooner, and come out way ahead money-wise.

If you’re interested in peds, I’d say NYU by far. Having minimal debt will be tremendously beneficial for you :)

At NYULI, do you 100% have to do your residency at their hospital in LI?
