Hey fellow dentists,
I got a letter from Nyu on Jan 23, to retake my TOEFL and asked for dental degree. Since, I graduated in Nov, 2005 Im eligible for convocation only in Oct, 2006. I explained my position to them thru fone.The lady spoke to me asked me to get a letter from Univ authorities and told me a send a notarised copy of it. I send the above said to the NYU and retook my TOEFL. When I called them again they still ask for degree.They doesnt seem to care for the letter. I donno whats happenin. I dont even know whether my file is complete. I highly appreciate your response.Thanx!

If they have asked for it then they should honor it. Unfortunately clerical staff everywhere likely to stick to the 'requirement'. Keep calling them. If required talk to/e-mail someone higher up. I am not familiar with the situation where someone can apply without a degree certificate. But if NYU has a policy of acceptaing something 'in lieu of' then you have to be pursuasive and make them accept your document. Don't give up. Good luck,
