I'm a predent and am thinking about applying to NYU. The only thing that's holding me back is NYC. I love the city, but do you ever have the time to explore? It seems like a waste of money if you're living in NYC and not making the most of it. It sounds like a dilemma--the courseload is difficult and you paid to live in Manhattan and yet you aren't actually living the Manhattan life. But I wouldn't know and that is why I am asking you guys.
Thanks :)

You're living in the city because it's close to the dental school, that's the primary reason, not because it's to enjoy the city 'lifestyle'. When classes start at 8, a 5 minute walk to the dental building will have given you an extra hour or so of sleep as oppose to living in Jersey or even Brooklyn. It's the convenience which makes living in the city appealing.

But then again there are weekends... :)
