  1. Pre-Optometry
Hi, for those that have taken the OAT recently, are there particular mechanisms that one should know for the Ochem section, I know SN1, SN2, E1, and E2 are ones you should know for sure..but are there other main ones that appear on the OAT, because going through the kaplan book, there are lots and at this point and now Im just trying to focus on the really important ones...any suggestions?

Thanks!

  1. Pre-Optometry
Know Aldol, Wolff-Kishner, Clemensen, and Wittig. Those are the ones that come to mind when I think back to my exam. As long as you are at least familiar with all of the reactions, you should be fine. The reason to look over ALL of them is because there will be a pretty good chance that they will show you a reaction and you will have to name it (I got two of those). Good luck! When is your test?
