OB Residency application

Hi everyone

I am a third year DO student. I am interested in OB/GYN residency in NY/NJ. I took COMLEX and USMLE with score 486 and 216. I plan to take COMLEX and USMLE Step 2 this july. Wondering if anyone can provide some advises on
1) anything I can do increase my chance of getting into any OB/GYN program?
2) any good OB/GYN program recommendation in NY /NJ region?
3) what is the chance of getting into the program with my current step 1 score?

1) OB-GYN related research, away rotations at places you might want to do residency
2) No I do not have any because I don't know all that much about obgyn programs

Best thing for you to do is get solid OBGYN letters of rec preferably from program directors or doctors with leadership and then I think rock COMLEX and USMLE Step 2.....if you apply broadly, I'm sure you can get an OBGYN residency but if you limit yourself to 1 region, it will be harder as I believe NY/NJ is competitive as many people want to live there, Good luck, I'm sure you can match, just don't limit yourself...like why not apply to programs in Pennsylvania or northeast! Your chances will increase
