I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I just want a clear answer, if possible.

If you apply by AMCAS today/tomorrow, will you not be able to make the deadline for oct 15th schools? I thought that selecting the school and submitting the AMCAS on/before oct 15 will work? No?

Can someone explain plz?

Oct. 15 is the deadline to submit your AMCAS application to several schools. This means this coming Sun at 11:59 p.m. EST is the latest you can submit your app for these schools. These schools will then send you Secondaries, for which they will often give you a 30 day deadline.

I've seen a ton of misinformation on SDN about this. To clear it all up:
1) As long as your AMCAS is submitted by Oct. 15, you'll still receive secondaries and be able to send in LORs, etc.
2) If you miss the Oct. 15 deadline, this simply means you can no longer apply to these schools, but can still apply the the many schools with later deadlines (e.g. Nov 1, Nov 15, Dec 1, Dec 15).

In one of the threads here, someone mentioned that submitting AMCAS on oct 15 will take a month to process n thus the deadline would be missed- Misinformation!

Schools that wait for your AMCAS to be verified before sending you a secondary app may not send it until Dec if it takes 6 weeks to verify. Still, you're still officially in on time if your AMCAS is in by Oct. 15.

I'm thinking of adding more schools to AMCAS. I'm already verified and I was wondering if the Oct. 15 deadline was the last day to add schools or just the last day to submit for verification. Thanks!

I'm doing this last minute because I was waiting for my scores... like many people, I think.

Just to be clear, I have untill 11:59pm EST, at the end of the day on Sunday Oct 15th, right? Not midnight, the beginning of October 15th.?

My coursework in my app is showing incomplete. Will it remain this way until my transcripts are submitted and verified?

I did a mad rush to order and expedite transcripts yesterday. I read that we have 14 days after the deadline to have the transcripts submitted. Is that correct? I can submit it with this field indicating incomplete?

Quick question: many (or all?) of those schools with AMCAS/primary deadline on 10/15 also have secondary deadline on 11/15. If AMCAS verify our application AFTER the secondary deadline, do you think they will grant us some sort of extension? I agree that *officially* we are in the game as long as we submit the AMCAS application by 10/15. I submitted mine more than three weeks ago and I am still waiting for verification.....
