Check out this story from BBC News: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/5198602.stm

If this technique ever prooves itself, it oughtta be another great motivator for people to have regular eye exams (assuming OD's can use the machines once they're made...), which would be good for us and them!

but what about the fact that a good number of patients will have their lenses removed by the time this would become a beneficial test?

not saying its not a good idea.

I had the same thought. it's great that its non-invasive. But, here in the states, most people have ocular implants by 80 yo.

If it catches it REALLY early.... it would be a great motivator for annual eye exams.

On another topic: If this test were available today... would you get screened? Or would you rather not know. (especially since as of now there's no cure, only palative treatment)
