I received an interview from Minnesota. Did they send an email for the details and the final days?
Hey! Not sure if you received yours yet but I was wondering the same and found the email with the date and zoom link in my junk folder.

Well, they told me about the date but they said that they will send more info about the details of the interview one week prior to the interview day. Could you please tell me if you received the email with the details one week prior to your interview?

it looks like I got it a week before!

Just wanted to check if U of Michigan is in Match or not. Match website says it is while the university page says it is not.

does anyone know if Dr. Cook is staying at UNC or not?

Super duper stressed here. I have no clue which university is better. Wish there was some guidance but seems Prosth threads are the least active.

yeah I’ve noticed that too! I’m between a couple programs as well and it’s hard to know how to make the right choice for me

I'm facing the same problem too. I really really like a program but it's almost 60k a year and then there's this other good program too for less than a third the tuition. Decisions Decisions.

I would say it depends on what your end goal is and if that program will get you there. my goal is to be a good clinician because I want to work somewhere rural. I also go to an expensive dental school so I don’t want to rack up much more debt. the prosth faculty at my program said to not let tuition be a deciding factor if the program is a good match for you since we will be specialist and should be able to pay back those loans easier 🤷🏼‍♀️

I would suggest looking at programs that offer stipends and where the certificate and MS are actually combined as one pack so I don’t have to pay twice for two separate things.

I would be interested in starting a pros/con list for programs... would anyone else contribute to that?

Yeah, I appreciate your thoughts and feedback. It depends on our end goal and my goal is to become a good clinician too. Nowadays it’s become so tough getting an interview and then successfully make it to the final list of lucky candidates.

I need some advice. Say once the interview is over and you would ranked a program. Is it a good thing to let the program know that you ranked them and not the actual rank ? I mean, as per the match rules, it says we can voluntarily inform each other, right ?
Thanks !

I agree. I'm also concerned about the way programs are presented via Zoom. I've had one interview that I thought went great and I loved the program and then I heard from a resident at another school that the PD inflates the numbers of how many procedures you actually get. I feel like it stressed me out even more because I don't want to pick a program that presented themselves better than they are 🥺

Yeah, I too heard something like that. End of the day, we can only wish to be matched to one of the programs you ranked. We can only hope for the best. Good luck 👍👍

Even I have the same concern. After reading the match rules I wondered the same, but was not sure about it as have heard just the opposite, that you can't contact programs after match opens . Would love to get an answer on this. @GVJ and @Dogtreats or anyone else who has some idea about this.
Thanks

I don’t think that’s true… I’m actually visiting my top choice in a week in a half which will be during match and the program told us to come if we want 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeas, I am with the same feeling. The brochure available on their website has good information, it seems amazing!

Does anyone know about LSU program? I have heard they work a lot with esthetics and new technologies like scanners, 3d printers and millings ... Some of you could give more information? I would appreciate!

If you have more information about LSU , Michigan, buffalo and Rochester programs I would appreciate that

I didn't take a ton of notes during my interview at LSU unfortunately. I do remember that they have a faculty member that specifically helps with research, which is nice, and they do a lot of research projects for dental companies. I also remember that they do have a focus on esthetics, which I feel is unique and I haven't heard that at many schools. They have lab techs who are there to help them also but the residents do a majority of their own lab work. Hopefully that helps, I don't remember much else about the program. As for those other programs @smilemaker2019 I didn't interview at any of those but hopefully someone who did can help you out.

Not sure if this is helpful at all, but Maryland director sent me an interview invite on 10/26, asked for dates, and decided for 10/29. It was just with him for 15 minutes, virtually.
Stony brook for me was 10/21 or 11/4. Previous post said said 10/20, 11/3, so I included all of them here.
Good luck everyone!
