What do you put for Course Code vs Course Title for AP exam credits?

Edit: Also, if you get credit at a university for a course taken at a community college in high school, do you enter it as coursework for both of them?

i think youre fine but it can easily be percieved that you are careless about your future and dont read instructions.

What is everyone doing for letters of recommendation in regards to where you are having the letter writer upload them? If you send to AACOMAS, you don't have an option to only send certain letters--they all go to all the schools.

I haven't used Interfolio before and would like to avoid it if at all possible since it costs more ($3/letter release?), but if I decide to apply MD, it would be nice to not have to bother the writers again for another submission. Plus, I looked up the schools I'm applying to and they don't all list where they will accept letters from and they all vary. Some don't even mention AACOMAS, so I would have to call/email each school to determine whether they accept them or not.

I will have a total of 5 letters, but didn't plan on sending every one to every school. One DO, two science professors (one is my advisor), one stats instructor, and one from a volunteer coordinator at the hospital where I volunteered/currently work. I wouldn't be so hesitant to send through AACOMAS if I knew all the schools accepted them (I don't see why they couldn't/wouldn't..) and if they don't mind getting additional letters (some schools don't mention them).

Edit: Interfolio charges $4 per letter per institution or $6 per electronic delivery, not including the $19 for a yearly membership to Dossier ($39.90 or $57 for 3 or 5 years)

yeah...i wish i could frikken pick and choose which letters to send. I didnt know I couldnt.
 
Can someone please help me out here?

For those who are mentioning hobbies on their app, how exactly are you going to state the hours and total number of weeks .... especially if the hobby is still ongoing?

Does anyone know if we need to enter our experiences in order of date? I assume it would look best to have the newer ones at the top. But I wondered if when the form is sent to schools if experience are automatically rearranged.

Hey! If you marked the course as "repeated," then they will fix this issue for you, even if you didn't put "0.00" credits for the initial attempt.
 
I'm still confused about summer retakes. I submitted my application and summer grades won't be out until first week of July. Were we supposed to mark the original grades as repeated? I didn't mark it because I didn't have grades for it yet. I just had my retakes as "in progress".

really?? Person in the email told me they wouldn't despite that...did a rep tell you this?
 
What course classification would my beginner's jogging class be?
 
I just remembered I built houses with my church on a weekend mission trip to Mexico my freshman year. It was only a one time thing since I had work the other 3 years of school when they went, but would you guys include this as an EC?

Yeah via email they told me that there was nothing that could be done. I then called them and they told me that since it was marked as repeated, they could fix it.
 
In my extracurricular section, I was wanting to include some informal tutoring I did for an old co-worker's middle school aged child. This was a couple years ago, and I haven't been in contact with that co-worker in a long time. But I wanted to include the experience because my co-worker was really thankful and her kid started acing her tests after I started tutoring her so it's an experience I feel really happy about. However it was just a handful of times over one semester. So maybe around 30 hrs tutoring hours? Is it a good idea to include it? Especially since I'm at a complete loss as to what number I should write down for a contact.

Q: What is the deal with AACOMAS and entering phone numbers for supervisors? Is it mandatory?

For something like adding a soccer team, can I just put myself down as supervisor? I don't know who else to put. I don't want to implicate my soccer buddies in this since it is a loosely knit team.

Anyone know how to enter my dual credit courses from high school? I can't seem to find an option like that on the application since it is asking what year I was when I was taking those courses (the only options are freshman-senior, nothing about high school).

Anyone getting security warnings when trying to go to the AACOMAS login page? It was fine up until 30min ago and now my computer keeps telling me the site is unsecured...
 
I just added a few more schools but the pay and submit section is greyed out...Anyone else dealing with this?

In the verificaiton thread, others are reporting site issues as well. Pretty sure they are having technical issues right now. Probably won't be fixed until tomorrow.
 
All of my transcripts were received 3 days ago but my status still says awaiting materials. does anyone know about how long it takes to change to verifying or being in queue to be verified?

I'm in the same boat still and I'm beginning to lose patience. I KNOW they were sent correctly because my MD transcripts were sent the same day and they were processed June 1.
 
So just a heads up to everyone. AACOMAS is having major technical issues today and there is No time frame when the issues should be resolved. I just received this email from AACOMAS:

Regarding your GPA calculations, it seems as if there may be a technical issue
with the GPA display on your application. Our head verifier is going to
investigate your case more closely, to be sure that the GPA is being calculated
correctly.

This issue is not just impacting you, but all AACOMAS applicants, and our
Support Team is working hard to fix this issue as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, I do not have a time frame for when this issue will be fixed,
however, it is certainly our Support Team's top priority.

Same here my MD ones were received almost two weeks ago!
 
Does anyone know if the actual verification process will be delayed if my evaluators haven't yet sent in their letters? I know that in the Evaluations section, it says the following: "It is important to note that your application will be processed and sent to your designated colleges of osteopathic medicine when all transcripts are received and you have paid the application fee. Your application will not be held up for the receipt of evaluation letters," but when I view my program status, it says my application is still in the "Awaiting Materials" stage. The only materials it looks like it's waiting on are my evaluations, but I wasn't sure if they'd go forth and verify my application without them.

Out of curiosity, when were your transcripts sent?
 
I'm having the same issues as you all. Two transcripts were received (most recent one approved last Friday) and the final one is in AACOMAS limbo. I verified it was sent correctly to the correct address by the school back on 5/29! AMCAS had everything verified awhile ago (with just as many or more applicants to deal with) so I'm not sure what the deal is with AACOMAS having so many issues.

Same here. Submitted 5/6. Have a transcript received 5/15 (per their support team) still marked not received. Multiple emails with no response. The phone line just keeps ringing.
 
Are we assuming that the applications aren't going to be sent to the schools until the official MCAT scores release?

On another note, since I have submitted, been verified and paid for all of my programs already, does the MCAT score automatically update or do I have to contact schools for any reason regarding the official MCAT score.
 
Even though I have taken the MCAT and received my scores back, can I omit my MCAT exam from AACOMAS and later, after getting verified, update that information, as in add my MCAT exam?

Their instructions are a bit unclear:
Please provide information about the tests you have taken or plan to take. You may add or update this information at any time prior to submission. Once you have submitted, you will be able to add additional tests as well as update the ones marked "plan to take", but you will not be able to update or delete completed tests.

the bold is what is confusing me.


Add-on question regarding KYCOM:

"The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). Students must take the exam and have the official scores sent to KYCOM. "

Does this mean that even if I were to add my MCAT exam to AACOMAS I'd still have to electronically submit KYCOM a copy?
 
Is it just me, or is the app not working now? I can log in, but I can't go into any part of it to add stuff. I can only manage programs that I want to apply to, but nothing else.

Glad I'm not the only one! I emailed them just in case something was wrong with my account specifically...but it looks like it could be a site wide issue?

OH MAN THANK YOU! I THOUGHT I WAS GOING MAD. Panicking and everything. This is annoying. They never respond to emails or pick up the phone for me, so I was resigned to die lol... Let's pray this gets fixed soon..

Just wanted to update everyone. Despite being told that the applications will not be available to schools until late June by one of the managers, I received an email from Burrell tonight stating they had received my application

I submitted my application but now I cannot view it for some reason even though on aacomas website it states that after you e-submit your apps you can still see your application. Is anyone else having that problem?
