I'll start this one off:

Is it just me or does the online app suck? It crashes on me every 10 minutes and the part where you enter grades is a nightmare.

Yeah, I remember the same thing last year. Don't worry just keep on trying. I would recommend doing it on paper first then transferring it on computer. Double check everything. Also, work on a fast computer/with preferably Ethernet. Some times using dial up it too slow and that causes the browser to give an error sign.

One warning bout AADSAS online is the length of your personal statement. It's supposed to be no longer than 1500 words but this is based on no more than 7 letters per word. Soon as I copied my essay from paper unto computer screen, I had to chop off close to a 1/4 of my original essay. So, make your esssay on paper originally no more than 1300 words then test to see how much more you can squeeze in if there's a need.

Try this one...

Loosing app for 2 months AFTER secretary signed for it (sent by Fedex). Thereby cutting my chances at a number of universities due to VERY LATE application.

Doing your own investigative work to prove that they DID recieve it.

Inability to contact anyone there... Always forced to leave a message to the person in charge (forgot her name)... SHE NEVER CALLS BACK. Neither me, nor any of my friends have ever got a call back from her... we dont think she exists! Perhaps they get a lot of applications, but if one person cant handle that many files... HIRE MORE PEOPLE.

Ridiculously high fee's for lousy service.

Its over, Im in now, I will never need them again. Screw it.

We should start our own student application service!!! Who's in? NADSAS (North American Dental School Application Service) 😀

Also, for all of you 2004 applicants:

Be aggressive, call at least 2-4 times a month until you start hearing from your schools. AADSAS are liars. No one tells you the same information.

Two days after I submitted my app online on June 3rd, I called and this kid told me that my file was sent and the schools received it.

Then I called again and this lady said that it has not gone out, and it will take 2 weeks.

Instead it took 8 weeks.

So be patient, but get information. Then post it on SDN so we can see what they are tell you guys.

Hi Vic and everybody,

You won't believe what happen! I was charged 10 times on my credit card online because I kept getting an error message everytime I try but they were charging me already... I almost fainted when I checked the balance on Visaaaaa....!

I had no real problems with AADSAS last year, although I know that many did.

Interesting about the credit card. Last year they didn't charge me until they sent out my application batch (checking the credit card was actually a good way to see if your app. was sent out to schools).

I submitted on the first day, had an AADSAS number less than 10, and was in the first batch which was sent about 1-1.5 months later. As a result, my credit card wasn't charged until 4-6 weeks AFTER I had given it to AADSAS.

1)Never being able to get on late-at-night.
2)computer screen half-blanking out when I try to get to a new page on the application or after I submit something.
3)searching for class numbers is horrible! I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. Luckily I have the book with all the class numbers!

For those of you who are starting your app from scratch, i would recommend doing it on paper first then transferring it onto the computer.

What I did was print out an unofficial transcript and look up all the codes and wrote them on the sides. I had all of the questions done of Word and all I did was cut and paste them into the fields.

This saves tons of time! Also, if you remain idle in the browser it gives many problems. You should have everything already set up so all you do is transfer it w/out hesitation.

I am officially done! Now I just have to send in my transcripts and send the matching forms to my professors! Has anyone here sent their's in yet?

hey guys do u know when the first day to submit is? Online it says AADSAS will start processing in md june, but it doesn't have a definite date.

I submitted my application this morning and sent off all my matching forms. All that's left now is the DAT and secondaries!
