A few people have received invites according to the Dental School Admissions Bootcamp group on FB! I also read somewhere (might have been from last year's thread) that Case sends out invites in batches and towards the end of every month. Not sure how accurate this is and/or whether it'll apply for this year.

Has anybody started there Portfolio yet, I am having trouble staying under the 4MB restriction. It is impossible to do anything but a word doc. I tried powerpoint and 1 slide is over the 4MB restriction.

When you convert it into a pdf file, it will reduce in size. Test it out

They have historically sent out invites once a month. First batch went out 7/29 so its likely we can expect the 2nd batch around 8/29. Ballpark at least.

I had my interview last week at Case Western and I was really impressed with the caliber of the facilities, location, faculty, and students. The interview day was very relaxed and I enjoyed the actual 1-1 interviews. It was very conversational and they really made me feel like they were interested in what I had to say. Overall great experience!

Yes I believe the portfolio is mandatory this year. I did it in PowerPoint format with pictures depicting different areas of my life so they could get a better understanding of who I am. Examples: Family, hobbies, volunteer and leadership experiences, and why I thought Case was a good fit for me.

I used PowerPoint but you can use whatever you want! Mine was about 10 slides and I had to compress the pictures to make it fit within the MB limits. I wouldn't worry too much about it, just be creative and express your interests!

Thank you so much!!! I just made one slide and put a few pictures on the bottom. I also placed hyperlinks within the slide highlighting my research accomplishments. Hopefully that will be good enough!
